SMP/pay confused
My employer pays mat leave but I’m confused once I have had the 6 month pay from them do I need to apply for the SMP or not? Might be a stupid question but I’m so confused..

My employer also takes care of this but as far as I know from some friends, not all employers do. Better ask them to make sure
You don’t need to apply for anything, it will all be done through your employer if you’re receiving SMP. If you’re receiving maternity allowance directly from the government, you will need to complete an SMP1 form and send it off x
