Smacked my MILs hand away today 💀

Originally I felt bad about it but the more I think about it im like no fuck that! My 3mo is special needs, he has troubles swallowing and also has GERD, so his reflux episodes can be scary for us, and him, but we've gotten better at handling it without panicking and making things worse. Today we were out with my in laws (Mil, gmil) and my son started refluxing, milder case, but still a lot of spit up so it looks bad, since he was breathing the preferred course of action is to gently get him out of his carrier and sit him more upright. WELL my mother in law decides to shriek GET HIM OUT in my ear then proceeds to try and circumvent me already tending to him, and im like, calm down i've got him! And then she continues on by getting in the way of me going to unclip him by trying to frantically unclip him herself, so I smacked her hand and said get your damn hands off him, not yelling but firmly, gently got him out and comforted him and she stood a few feet away just clutching her hand in shock, she then proceeded to tell everyone I hit her, and to my surprise my GMIL actually took my side, usually shes just as bad. The group concensus was don't get in moms way and you won't get your hand smacked
